A summary account of the chapters of Sri Aurobindo’s “Secret of the Veda”. The problem of understanding of the Veda and its solution. Theories of the Veda – eastern and western are briefed. Basis of psychological theory of Veda of Sri Aurobindo is explained. Method of philology is introduced. After this, explanations of meaning of Vedic deities like Agni, Varuna, Ashwins, Saraswsti, using the litanies - sukthas. Symbolism of Veda like seven rivers, dawn, Angirasa story, lost cows, sons of darkness, victory over dasyus etc. are given briefly.
